The magic of tamales lies not just in their flavorful combination of corn masa and savory fillings but in the intimate moments shared among the women preparing them. As corn husks cradle the meticulously prepared ingredients, conversations flow and traditions are passed down, making each tamal a vessel of cherished memories and cultural significance. Our tamale recipe comes from Joel’s mother and sisters and are stuffed with shredded pork and a spoonful of her rich red mole made with Guajillo and California peppers.
